Painter sent me a text today, he has received the carbon fibre side panels, and reckons the bodywork will be done by next week end, looking forward to seeing the end results

Hi, Sorry for juming in on ur thread, but could you let me know where the tie bars are marked L / R please. I have checked over my tie bars with a magnifying glass, and I cannot see any id marks. The ones I have look like they have been powder coated in the past, so mabey thats obscuring it. thanks in advance, steven. hi steven never seen any left and right marks on tie bars fit either side no probs

Hi thanks for the info. I can't try fitting them yet, as my recently restored lc doesn't have a tie bar frame or engine. I'm just doing a bit of research for my next restoration. I've got a set of tie bar cases and tie bars and I bought a complete tie bar front engine mounting cut out a scap frame. I'm going to weld the tie bar engine mounting into a frame I have that's been butchered, not by me,to accept an ac rd bottom end. Thanks again for the info. Steven.

Just checked the parts list for lc2 and is the same as lc.
Part numbers for bars are:
4L0 - 21314-00 stay 1 4L0 - 21319-00 stay 6
so are different in some way, may have been just me but had a problem fitting tie bars before and found the pair I got off ebay were both marked R

There are L & R markings stamped on the tie bars.....100% fact. Some don't have them, probably due to rusting away, blasting, coating/paintng etc. or even never stamped or a shallow stamp at the factory, but I do have some with L & R stamped on them.

Hello, Thanks very much for the reply,s and pics regarding the L / R marks on the tie bars. I have now found the markings on mine, now I know where to look. It was indeed previous powder coating that was obscuring the markings, but they are just visible. Thanks again. steven.

Carbon panels look really nice with the decals fitted, not sure I like them with the tank though. Would've been nice if the tank was carbon wrapped then decals applied over the top.

I really like the way they have turned out..really different but subtle too.
They have to be good to match your old paint scheme Mick, i did love that as well.
