I’m in the middle of a GSXR1100 (1127) build. Picked up a set of bandit 1200 cylinders and gen1 Hayabusa pistons and sent them out to be bored. That’ll give it 1216 build with low compression. APE stud and nuts. APE valve springs and retainers. Have the turbo kit bought and ready to go. Among for around 300hp @20psi.

I've been slowly building this bike up over the last 2 or 3 years It's been made from all the old parts I got from two ex-racers. Lots of bits repaired and straightened. I got the chassis (not bent) from a Andy a forum member and a special cylinder head from Mutts. Any way I started it and too my surprise it started straight away. The carbs have got no idle option so it must be constantly feathered with the throttle to keep it running. I checked the engine temperature and measured 40 degrees on the top of the engine and 2 degrees at the entrance to the radiator. Bollocks it was going so good. Will start to check for the problem in a few weeks. What's with the rear tyre? Are you taking up off-road racing?

I've got some Heidenau tyres to use on it. It going to be my reserve track bike. First I need to find out why the water pump ain't working.

“First I need to find out why the water pump ain't working.”
The water wasn’t working properly on my 250LC. Turned out to be the impeller spinning on the splines of the shaft. Wonder if yours is the same?

Went to start my Tzr 125 a couple weeks ago but it wouldn't start. So took the carb off today and cleaned the jets and fitted a new float bowl gasket I brought from Yamaha. Put it back together and started first kick 😀 Tzr carb by

IMG_2755 by Andy Dexter, on Flickr Fitted Ramair filters to Frenchy as it came with K&N type filters 🤦♂️ as I don’t have a Std airbox at the moment thought I would pull the carb’s apart at the same time to check what jets were fitted found 210s fitted 😳🤦♂️ no spare jets to hand so out with a 1.5mm drill to make a 300 jet 👍 22.5 pilot jet clip was in the middle so set that to Std 4th from top and repacked the allspeeds. Then out for a test ride runs a lot better pulls well from down below slight stutter around 5-5.5K pulls through ok but will see if I can iron it out

Check what other people are using on an LC with Ramair filters. Maybe 360 to 400.....

Hi Rob Yeah it’s not the ideal way of jetting 🤣 but it works I roughly went 50% over standard jetting of 190 will plug chop it another day hopefully I will come across a standard airbox one on eBay at moment £160 starting bid 😳

Wonder if yours is the same? Jon Yes Jon the impeller is loose. Happy days easy fix. I'm glad it was nothing to do with the cylinder head. As you can see it's an aftermarket part. It's difficult to beat original spares unless you are heavily modifying your engine.

It’s a shit design. They should have moulded it around a hexagon rather than splines IMO.
It makes me wonder if the impellor is actually moulded around the splines shaft, or it’s heated up and pressed into the plastic? Any witness marks?

Jon Yes witness marks on the inside of the steel cover. Not much as it didn't run long as i was monitoring the temperature with a Raytec. This one is threaded and came loose on the thread. Its now fitted with another old original impellor. All back together now. If the weather is not too shitty i might start it tomorrow. I need to make some better pictures of the pipes. They are noisy as bugger and look a bit like Allspeeds with JL cans. It makes me wonder if they are a hybrid pipe or original design?

As for who supplies them, afraid i cannot help, i bought them used from a guy on Fleabay, sorry. However check out NK racing, they also make Billet ally ones for RGV arms, which are very nice. Mouse
