Yes if you have been ragging it and slipping the clutch a lot.

Never slip the clutch....and only squirt it now and again....bought the bike in March and didn’t know how long oil has been in there...so thought I’d change it...was having trouble finding neutral

That’s fine. Lots of different opinions on oil. As long as you change it regularly as per recommended intervals.

Made my second 31k come back to life. As this is a track bike only I minimized cable loom to just charge battery (lithion lightweight), the servo, tacho and temperature gauge. It ran with 2 kicks. Found an error though, cable splitter of my gas is sticking. Will have to redo that but thats easy.

Refitted my centre stand 34 years after removing it. Practicality over weight saving.

not exactly today- but I recently took the Mars Bar to sign my will. Oddly, I drove home like an adult. I don't think I broke a single law.....they are quite a civilized bike when ridden like you've just signed your last will and testament.....needle never near the red...like Plod is on your heels....or a codger commuting on an MZed.. won't last though...

Eeek Chris that is grown up! Not the Will thing, everyone should have one, but the riding... I guess you didnt want anyone to inherit just yet LOL! Happy memories of spending time in your shed garage mancave.

He doesn't know yet- but the guy who found it for me is going to get it if I kick the bucket prematurely- otherwise it's the kid who cares more about guns then bikes....maybe I'll adjust the will so he contacts you lot first when he tries to flog 'em- bit of a shipping issue tho. In the meantime- blowing out the cobwebs on the 81. Got this in 2015, apparently had been sitting a while but back then I knew nothing about cracking open the engine to replace the seals etc etc etc and just ran it. Apart from the 6k flat spot it's always run ok- but always sad when u have to pump up the tires coz it's been sitting too long. Can't face the bicycle pump tho. AirMan to the rescue! lazy t*sser.

Reassembling the forks after full strip, vapor blaster, seals, etc ... No $$$ for new springs ... how much preload spacers should I add, and what weight oil? Fast rider 210lbs bare.

Did you just use an extra set of standard caliper bolts?
