As the Aprilia is a bit of a hooligan bike its only natural that many of us LC riders should own one.............heres mine an 08 ltd edition Tuono Daytona ;D ;D We should start an LC/Aprilia thread

With the R version which that is, you get alot for your money, Ohlins forks, shock & steering damper, Brembo brakes, OZ magnezium wheels plus loads of carbon fibre (hugger, front mudguard, deflectors & fairing infills) My one was the best of the generation 1 RSVRs with the 4 pad brembo radials plus lots of cosmetic changes, except for the haga rep but you wont get one for that money. You can't go wrong for 2.5K if you broke it for parts you'll get your money back

Nowhere near as much top end as an R1 or Blade (they don't rev as high) but the grunt is what they are all about. Mine made 110 at the wheel on Gibson's dyno but in some ways it feels quicker than my EXUP that made 129 on the same dyno

As said, not as fast as an R1 but the grunt is addictive you ride them different to an il4, you can power out of corners much faster, where an il4 would just spin up & high side the V twin digs in

I had a blue Y2K lightning, loved it but traded it in for a 2003 firebolt traded that in for the Aprilia ;D From my couple of days of (shared) ownership it struck me as being a very single-minded bike, and the way the rim disc ate pads was unreal... Wheelied well, if I remember, although Dave Coates could go through the box on it I was struggling to get the clunky thing into second, also the power was just all at the bottom end - and that was the s3 version with the V&H pipe, and I was used to GSXR screamers I really like the big frame on yours, such an original design, I've tried to prompt mrs drzsimon into putting her arris over the pillion seat but she concedes that it ain't made for two people Plus, they seem to hold their value as well which is no good for a tight Yorkshire bloke

They are a very cool looking bike . I think the front faring/light would look well on a ypvs special

They are a very cool looking bike . I think the front faring/light would look well on a ypvs special It would but I wouldn't like to guess the cost. In 2010 (before latest increase!) That tank would have been £1,000 to replace, wheels £1,500 each, the Aka end slip on cans if bought new £999 (now £1,100) . They take the p**s. Great bike though....would recommend to anyone..... ;D
