YZ 125 sure has alot more power then an RD engine so that would make a fun ride, but the problem is - which YZ engine will fit good enough? would have thought one between 80s and 90s possibly .

I decided to do the swingarm differently. I'm replacing the bottom tubings for wider ones, for more sideways stability. The original tubes are only 20 mm wide, which is way too narrow IMO. Although the flex on an original arm is not only related to the tube dimensions, (perhaps not at all?) it doesn't hurt to add a bit of extra strength to it. The major improvement will be at the front area where the original swingarms tend to flex, this is the most critical area. Anyway, here's the start of it, as you can see I put a stock swingarm at it's side to compare with:

so what rims are you gowing to run with this set up . It'll have to be the stock rims for a while as I've ran out of cash lol, but later on I'm probably gonna try getting hold of 3-spoke TZR 125 rims, or in worst case scenario RD 125 Mk2/3 rims. I already have a set of Mk2/3 forks, (TZR and RD Mk2/3 use the same forks) they just need a rebuild but they're in pretty good condition in the chrome etc, so a set of yokes and rims and I'm pretty much there.

I have seen many photos of RD125s with DT200 engines from japan Yeah you're right, and that would have been awesome but DT200 is insanely rare here in Sweden. I mean really, they're REALLY f***ing rare! I have never actually seen one around when browsing sale sites and forums, least of all seen one in real life. It wouldn't surprise me if Sweden never imported them at all tbh. I'm not sure though, I could be wrong I guess. Maybe there's one or two way up north, rotting away in barns lol. ;D

Today there was really good weather so I decided to freshen up the frame a tad, so out with the sandblaster and go bananas! Well at least on the rusty parts of it. I didn't do f**k all with the rest of the frame, I just sandblasted the original paint a little on the surface so the new paint would stick to it. I didn't even paint the end of the subframe as you won't see it anyway lol. So not the most serious pant job perhaps, but f**k it, I just wanted to calm the rust down a tad. This is where the side stand was once upon a time sitting. As I mentioned before (or did I?) the frame tube is shaped that oddly from factory, it's kinda "squashed in" at the end, I think they did it beause it looked better when the side stand was added to the frame.. ? I welded on the new steering stop, and it was a PITA as I'm using a mig welder and the slightest goddamn wind blows the goddamn gas away, titting up the goddamn weld. I had to lay another weld on top of the first one as I didn't get it to melt properly in the headstock at first. It's welded un the underside aswell just as they are stock. I also filled the hole on the l/h side of the headstock that appeared when removing the steering lock (I think UK bikes has another kind of lock up at the key area?).

I made some progress on the swingarm, it's not thaaaaat much left to do so in the next swinger update you'll most likely see the swinger welded up and done.
